i ordered some new pigments to make milk paints.. acrylic doesn't feel inspiring anymore.. so thought i would try something different. here are a few paintings i did on paper from a year ago..
mmm.. hemp and linen are my favorite textiles, well, i should include wool in that statement as well.. i often find myself dreaming of linen or hemp sheets..
fog linen is one of my favorite online shops for linen.. i have a linen top from fog and love it! she will mail to the US and is very helpful and gracious to work with! i love how she stamps her linens..
a simple fix for a generic pendant.. mason jar.. i took the old glass off and replaced it with mason jars.. first seen in restoration home (recycled home is the same book, different cover), a brilliant book by mark and sally bailey. i own both of their books and are my main resource for inspiration when i am tempted to start rearranging and changing our little home.
speaking of arounna, i bought some fabric of hers to make eliot a quilt. i also have some linen from ink and spindle from fiber organics. the only quilts i have made in the past are small and spontaneous. this time, i thought i would try a pattern.. we'll see how that turns out!
we have worms.. we like to think of them as our pets.. they eat all our leftovers, peels and tons of yummy organic food! we love our worms and love to live as sustainable as we can..
i just received my latest selvedge magazine in the mail.. such a sweet gift to find in the mailbox! thought i would share some handmade inspiration... blodwen, a lovely local welsh general store. below are a few items from their online store.
also, one of my favorite artists, tamar mogendorff has generously shared one of her patterns with selvedge readers. can't wait to make that cute chicken (in the second photo below!)
felting with niki and micki. we used wensleydale wool from black pines sheep. lovely to spend the morning, little ones running around, while we laughed and felted together! i usually pick the wool by hand before i spin it and this was so fast and energizing..
i love line, texture and color. here, i will share my daily paintings and a glimpse of what inspires me (my family, my home, my garden and other little beautiful things around me..)
